In June this year I had posted about ‘Windows‘ opening the doors for me and a friend wished me, “A wall of pride there next to the windows.” How prophetic! The mail which I had been awaiting for since November came in today and I woke up to Google welcoming me to the Google For Education Certified Trainer Program! Simply put it means that I am a certified Google for Education Trainer.

The past few months have been a lot about learning and more learning. It has been about learning, practicing and appearing for test after test, mocks, practice, Google trainer site and the actual certification tests. There are lots of people who have been instrumental in my being here and this has been a truly collaborative achievement starting from Mahattattva, our GE partners to my friends who all stood by me be it to help me master the different Google Apps or to get the people for conducting my trainings. And it is my turn to give back to the community.

I committed to the same in my trainer video and I write this post to reach out to the educator community on this platform. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me if you too want to be a Google Educator or Trainer. I will help to the best of my ability, I promise.

I have been using Google workspace as an educator but to me Google is not only about education but also about empowerment. A random inquiry by an aged friend if i could, being a GCE, teach her to use GPay made me aware of the many women who are educated but not tech savvy. The women who still depend on someone in the family to help them with anything related to technology. I want every woman to be able to manage her money using Google Pay, and map her own journey using Google Maps. To be able to keep up to date with Google Keep and search for information on the web effectively. To make her presence felt on the internet with Google sites and find her voice on Google podcast and blogger. The woman of the 21st century who manages her budget in sheets and tracks her tasks. A woman who is independent because she knows her GDrive and doesn’t need to be driven around. I see opportunities for women in the multiple ‘oooo’s of Google and that’s my reason for wanting to be a Google Trainer.
